Radiografia – X-ray
A: Gli hanno fatto una radiografia invece di un’ecografia.
B: E lui non se ne è accorto?
A: Dice che pensava alle vacanze…
A: They did an x-ray instead of an ultrasound.

Recensioni – Reviews
A: Ormai non mi fido più delle recensioni. Ci sono tanti film che hanno recensioni negative, ma a me piacciono moltissimo.

B: No, but here in Australia you can’t buy more than a box of 100 tablets.
Rifiuti – Waste/garbage

Rimpianti – Regrets
Quando avevo 16 anni, un amico molto saggio mi ha detto che quando sono in dubbio è meglio fare quello che mi dice il cuore, così se sbaglio non avrò rimpianti – When I was 16, a very wise friend told me that when I’m in doubt it’s better to do what my heart tells me, so if I make a mistake I won’t have regrets.
Rinunciare a/Mollare – To give up
A: Un consiglio che daresti a un adolescente?
B: Mai rinunciare a un viaggio e soprattutto mai mollare quando le cose si fanno difficili.
A: One piece of advice you would give to a teenager?
B: Never give up on a trip and above all never give up when things get hard.
Riparare – To repair
Riparare le cose aiuta a ridurre l’inquinamento e i rifiuti - Repairing things helps reduce pollution and waste.
Riprendere – To resume/start again
A: Ieri sera, quando sei rientrato mi hai detto che hai visto un drago trasformarsi in libellula e poi in un fiore…
B: Scusa, ma preferirei riprendere la conversazione in un altro momento… Ho bisogno di dormire…
A: Last night, when you came back, you told me that you saw a dragon transform into a dragonfly and then into a flower...
B: Sorry, but I would prefer to talk about it (to resume the conversation) another time... I need to sleep...
Risarcimento danni – Compensation for damages
Mia nonna voleva chiedere il risarcimento danni a un ristorante che ha usato i suoi pomodori per fare il ragù con la panna da cucina. Mi ha fatto scassare dal ridere – My grandmother wanted to seek compensation for damages from a restaurant that used her tomatoes to make ragù with cooking cream. She made me burst out laughing.
Ristrutturare – To renovate
A: Che senso ha rinnovare la casa se tanto tra dieci anni è di nuovo vecchia?
B: Mamma mia come sei antipatico.
A: Ho cose più importanti da fare.
B: Tipo?
A: La mia collezione di bustine di zucchero.
B: Scusa ma tu non stai bene…
A: What’s the point in renovating the house if in ten years it will be old again?
B: My goodness, you are so unpleasant.
A: I have more important things to do.
B: Like what?
A: My collection of sugar packets.
B: Sorry but you’re not well...
Riunione – Meeting
A: Alla riunione chiederò di poter lasciare i miei sette pitoni liberi in casa.
B: E se ti dicono di no?
A: Io, Mammolo, Brontolo, Eolo, Dotto, Gongolo, Cucciolo e Pisolo cercheremo qualcuno che ci ami per quello che siamo.
A: Non smetti mai di stupirmi.
A: At the meeting I will ask if I can leave my seven pythons free in the house.

A: Bashful, Grumpy, Sneezy, Doc, Happy, Dopey, Sleepy and I will look for someone who loves us for who we are.

Rumoroso – Noisy
I cani possono essere molto rumorosi, ma li adoro – Dogs can be very loud, but I love them.
Saggio – Wise
I miei gatti sono estremamente saggi. Pensano solo a mangiare, dormire, giocare e farsi fare le coccole – My cats are extremely wise. They only think about eating, sleeping, playing and being cuddled.
Saldi – Sales
A volte durante i saldi, mi sembra che vendano i vestiti dell’epoca di mia nonna – Sometimes during sales, I feel like they sell clothes from my grandmother’s era.
